Hair Straightener VD
Recent scientific studies have found that the use of chemical hair straightening products and hair relaxer products present an increased risk of uterine cancer, endometrial cancer, and ovarian cancer.
Legal action is being strategized against manufacturers and producers of these hair products for their failure to properly warn consumers of potential health risks.

Richardson + Childers, Schlueter & Smith Criteria:
Do NOT sign residents of the following states: VA, AL, TN or ID
- PC does not already have an attorney for their chemical hair straightener/relaxer case.
- Prior to age 70, PC was diagnosed with uterine or endometrial cancer. (not accepting Ovarian - if you come across Ovarian Cancer DX sign to JLG)
- PC diagnosed with cancer 2013 to present.
- PC used products for a minimum of 4 times per year, for at least 5 years.
- Death cases: DQ date of death prior to June, 2013
L. Paul Mankin
- PC does not already have an attorney for their chemical hair straightener/relaxer case.
- Between ages of 18 and 70, PC was diagnosed with uterine or endometrial or ovarian cancer
- PC diagnosed with cancer 2013 to present.
- PC used products for a minimum of 5 years consistently (if used for many years, consistently can be vague)
- PC is able to identify brand name of products used.
- Death cases: DQ date of death prior to June, 2021.
Kline Specter (Via Richardson Law Firm, CBW, or Bob Brown)
- PC does not already have an attorney for their chemical hair straightener/relaxer case.
- Between ages of 18 and 70, PC was diagnosed with uterine or endometrial cancer (not accepting Ovarian - if you come across Ovarian Cancer DX sign to JLG)
- PC diagnosed with cancer 2005 to present.
- PC used products for a minimum of 5 years consistently (if used for many years, consistently can be vague)
- PC is able to identify brand name of products used.
- Death cases: DQ date of death prior to June, 2021.
JLG Hair Straightener/Relaxer Criteria
- PC does not already have an attorney for their chemical hair straightener/relaxer case.
- Prior to 75 years of age, PC was diagnosed with uterine, endometrial, or ovarian cancer.
- Date of Dx must be 2013 or later. (Within the last 10 years)
- Prior to cancer Dx, PC used chemical hair straighteners multiple times per year.
- One year(s) or more latency between first full year of product use and cancer dx. (Meaning DX needs to be at least a year after first year of usage)
- For deceased cases, the death cannot exceed more than 10 years. The death must be within the last 10 years and the COD must state uterine, endometrial, or endometrial ovarian cancer.
- Hair Dressers that used the products for 1+ years and were DX after 1 or more years of usage are okay to sign.
Parker Waichman Hair Straightener Case Criteria: (Inactive)
- PC does not already have an attorney for their chemical hair straightener case.
- Prior to 75 years of age, PC was diagnosed with uterine, endometrial, or ovarian cancer OR ... Uterine Fibroids Requiring Myomectomy|Uterine Fibroids Requiring Hysterectomy|Uterine Fibroids Requiring Uterine Artery Embolization| (Fibroids + Surgery Only) (Uterine Fibroids with Ablation or D&C is DQ) If the PC has the surgery date for the SX, we can take.
- Date of Dx must be 2013 or later. (Within the last 10 years)
- Prior to cancer Dx, PC used chemical hair straighteners 4 or more times in a year
- Dx with qualifying injury at least 4 years latency from first full year of product use (Meaning DX needs to be at least 4 years after first full year of usage)
- For deceased cases, the death can not exceed more than 10 years. The death has to be within the last 10 years and the COD must state Uterine Fibroids, Endometrial, Ovarian or Uterine Cancer.
- Hair Dressers that used the products for 4+ times in a year and were DX at least 4 years latency from first full year of product use are okay to sign.
Uterine Fibroid Cases should ONLY be signed to Parker Waichman at this time. Have the campaign switched to make the PW docs available.
Hair Straightener Case Criteria: Peiffer Wolf:
- Used a hair straightener and/or hair relaxer product
- Used products on average 4 or more times per year for a minimum of 5 years
- Four (4) years or more latency between first full year of product use and qualifying injury diagnosis (Diagnosis must be 4 years after first use)
- The potential client will have one or more of the following
- Endometrial Cancer
- Uterine Cancer
- Ovarian Cancer
Approximate start and stop date (if they have stopped)
They are not accepting individuals that have used ONLY Revlon products. If they used Revlon, they must have used another brand, as well to qualify.
Name of hair straightener and/or hair relaxer products used (to their best of their ability)
Please note if the PC had any Infertility issues or miscarriages.
Declinations for Peiffer and Brown:
- more than 20 years since last product use (2003)
- qualifying injury diagnosis was more than 10 years ago
- DQ if they are a resident of Alabama, Idaho, Kansas, Texas or Virginia and the Dx is more than 2 years ago (prior to 2021)
- DQ if they are a resident of Mississippi, Michigan, North Carolina, or South Dakota and the Dx is more than 3 years ago (prior to 2020)
- DQ if they are a resident of Nebraska and the Dx is more than 4 years ago (prior to 2019)
- DQ if they are a resident of Maine and the Dx is more than 6 years ago (prior to 2017)
- For all other states, DX must be within the past 10 years.
